iTunes...? Really...?!

We are now on iTunes, loyal listeners. Feels like a big deal, but we'll see.

Time

Time doesn't matter.

Time is a concept, something to measure the passing of a day, a week, a year. Time is the only dimension that is relative. It can seem like time is just gone in the blink of an eye, or it can seem like there isn't enough time for anything at all to be done. We measure time in a totally subjective way because we need to have a way to make the passing of it feel controlled, a way to make it make any sense at all.

But it doesn't make sense. It's a puzzle we can never figure out. We can feel like we are in so many different times, all at once. We can be at a time when we are a child, seeing our parents as the only good thing, the only authority, the only provider. And in the very next minute, we can feel that we are in the time where the only people who make us feel bad are the very same people. This is no comment on parents, but we can all relate.

We can see a love, a hate, a person we thought we knew, and know that in our mind, they will always be that person, no matter what they are now. And also know that they are not the same person, no matter what our fucked up sense of time says. This has to be the crucial decision we make as time goes on. Where do we want to be? At what point in time do we want to live? Because as much as some people say you have to "live in the present", you don't. Many people live in the past or the future. What could have been? What will be?

But there is nothing about time that says we can't influence it. We can shape our future. We can forget our past. We can make decisions based on our past and make our future better. There is a name for that.

Hope.
